Last year we released JomSocial User List, which was a successful product in JomSocial Community Solution. As we progressed with the JSUL, we felt that architecture of product does not allow enough flexibility to implement fancy features. We took this opportunity to craft a super flexible and generic user search system, which is named as JoomlaXi User Search (code name XIUS).
This is a quick update on status of JoomlaXi's User Search component. We want to go for a public release as soon as possible, our hard deadline is 21 May. We have been working on improving performance, improving user interface, cleaning bugs, doing user interface and unit testing, and moving hardcoded layouts into Modules.
Better Performance and API Polishing The JSPT 2.2 is more better in performance then previous versions of JSPT due to Auto-loading and cache concept. It is also better in API. Two API's have been triggered onBeforeProfiletypeChange and onAfterProfiletypeChange. More triggers are planned, and these will be added before beta release.
Till now the each Profile Type is shown as row by row in Profile Type Selection Page at the time of Registration using JSPT. Now the functionality of showing Profile Types in Column has been added. Through which you can configure your the layout of Profile type Selection page as you want.
We had great response from Joomla community over our First Generation of Captcha System. The basic problem with last version were dependency on Template Overrides and Compatibility with different versions of Joomla Component. We took problems in first generation system as a challenge to us, and now we are presenting a Next-Generation Robust Captcha System i.e. JoomlaXi Joomla Captcha (codename is XIJC). XIJC not only resolves the problem of previous versions, but also enable an administrator to use captcha, virtually on any page in Joomla. This way you can secure your non-standard pages, without digging into the code.
Watermark Image Generation This Feature is completely restructured .You have no need to bother about the watermark. Now the watermark image generation support is added with JSPT 2.1. You just need to enter the text which you want to display as watermark and configure position,size,font and colors of watermark.
