A Posture and Desk-Habit Nudge for the Mac

Client
Shyam Verma (Ready Bytes founder)
Years
2026
Platform
macOS

Project Overview

Poxture is a product by our founder, Shyam Verma, built at Ready Bytes in 2026 after 21 years of working hunched over laptops. It is a macOS menu-bar app that watches your posture and desk habits through the Mac's webcam and nudges you when you slip. It is sold and published by Shyam under his own name at poxture.com, not as client work and not as a Ready Bytes-owned product.

Key Features

  • Soft glow at the notch - a gentle visual nudge instead of a loud alert
  • Posture and desk habits - notices things like leaning in toward the screen or resting your chin on your hand
  • Calibrated to you - you sit normally, then lean in, so it reacts to your own range
  • Menu-bar app - lives quietly at the top of the screen and stays out of the way

Privacy by Design

Everything runs on the Mac, using Apple's on-device Vision framework. No camera image is saved or sent anywhere.

Technologies Used

  • Platform: macOS (Apple Silicon)
  • Language: Swift
  • Vision: Apple Vision, on-device
  • Website: Astro static site on Cloudflare Pages

Project Highlights

Poxture shows what Ready Bytes' founder builds when the user is himself: a small, calm, privacy-first utility, designed, engineered and shipped end to end by one person. Poxture is not a medical device and makes no medical claims.
