Project Overview
Our client runs an LPG distributorship, delivering cylinders to customers on booking. Delivery is made by vehicle, and the client's delivery areas are sparse — a vehicle may travel 10-20 km to make a single delivery.
We built MASHAN, an IoT system that detects low pressure in LPG cylinders and schedules delivery in advance, rather than waiting for the customer to reorder. The system includes a web application for admins to manage customers and sensors, and a mobile app for end users.
MASHAN: Smart LPG Management Solution
MASHAN addresses two problems common to LPG cylinder customers:
1. Unorganized Replacement Policy
Ideally, a consumer orders a new cylinder as soon as they switch to their reserve. In practice, many forget — and end up with two empty cylinders instead of one.
2. The "Empty" Cylinder Problem
A cylinder that seems empty is not always empty. Air pressure, positioning, and weather changes can make a cylinder read as empty before it actually is, leading to premature replacement. MASHAN's pressure sensor removes the guesswork, so cylinders are switched at the right time.
