Project Overview

Our client is running an LPG distributorship and delivers LPG cylinders to customers on booking. Previously, LPG delivery was made after the customer made the booking. Delivery is done via vehicle (loaded with trucks). Unlike in India, distances between two nearby living customers are in KMs. Sometimes, LPG vehicles have to travel 10-20 KM just to make one delivery.

We developed the MASHAN IoT system that can detect the low pressure of LPG cylinders so that advance delivery can be scheduled efficiently. The solution includes a web application for admins to manage customers and sensors, along with a mobile app for end users.

MASHAN addresses two major issues which are typical to users of LPG through cylinders:

1. Unorganized Replacement Policy

Ideally, a consumer should order a new cylinder upon switching to the reserve. Many people tend to forget doing it and find themselves with two empty cylinders. In Murphy's family, it happens always on weekends and holidays... Don't become a Murphy, join the MASHAN program.

2. The "Empty" Cylinder Problem

A cylinder that seems empty is not always empty! For reasons connected to air pressure, geographical positioning and weather changes, such mistakes are commonplace. That phenomenon causes a replacement of cylinders ahead of their times. With MASHAN, it is never an issue, as the system ensures a proper, on-time switching of cylinders.
